Treetop Day Nursery is incorporated as a non-profit organization and was established in 1983 by a group of parents in conjunction with the Toronto Board of Education in response to a survey which indicated a need for childcare services among families in north Toronto. Treetop is located in Oriole Park Public School (at Avenue Road and Eglinton) and has been offering quality childcare and nursery school programs to preschool children from two and one half to six years of age since September 1983. In September 1985, we expanded our program to include schoolage childcare for the children of Oriole Park who are between the ages of six and nine. In 1989, we received approval to include some ten year olds. We are now licensed to accept children up to 12 years of age. For preschoolers, Treetop has a morning nursery school, full daycare and daycare to complement the junior and senior kindergarten classes taught at Oriole Park. For children age six to twelve Treetop offers care outside of normal school hours five days a week during the school year. Oriole Park Public School cannot ensure a spot in the school program to children that are out of district.

All full time staff are early childhood educators, so we operate a program that offers quality care. Staff turnover is very low, all staff have been there for over 12 years. All these factors contribute to the fact that there is a good relationship with the school board teachers and the daycare staff. All of our staff are qualified earlychildhood educators.  Treetop Children's Centre is incorporated as a licensed non profit.
