In March 2022, Ontario signed a historic deal called the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement (CWELCC) with the federal government that will lower licensed childcare fees to an average of $10 a day by September 2025. Treetop Children's Centre has opted into the CWELCC agreement for 2023, is currently enrolled in the CWELCC, and has amended its service agreement with the City of Toronto to include this agreement in the Centre’s fee collection policy.

All full fee-paying families with children in our Preschool and Kindergarten programs had a 52.7% reduction in childcare fees for the period of January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023. School Age fees are not included in the CWELCC and all enrolled School Age children will have the regular school-age rates applied to their accounts. Families receiving childcare subsidies through the City of Toronto will receive their adjusted rates directly from Toronto Children’s Services. A posted Fee Memo is available outside of the Centre office.

Participation in CWELCC beyond 2023 is pending board approval. The Treetop Board of Directors and management will continue to assess the impact involvement with CWELCC has on the organization, and will continue to participate in the agreement as long as it remains in the best interest of Treetop Children's Centre families, employees, and operations.
